In-country capacity needs assessments

Upon request from countries supported by the Oil for Development Programme, UN Environment can facilitate a baseline evaluation of capacity needs and priorities for improving environmental management of the oil and gas sectors. The standardized assessment template covers all aspects of environmental management in the oil industry, including institutional, legal and technical capacity requirements, as well as a holistic approach to long-term capacity development. The systematic process for prioritizing capacity needs and measuring progress will support more effective country programme development.

In-country capacity needs assessment is currently ongoing in Uganda.
